Alex Ferguson (Fergy) - Mountain Biking Coach & Enthusiast
With 10 years of riding and racing downhill and enduro under their belt, Alex has a true passion for all things mountain biking. Whether it’s the techy features at Black Hill or the flowy trails at Creswick, I am always pushing my limits and enjoying every ride. Black Hill’s Sluice trail is a favorite, with its steep chutes and technical challenges.
As the head coach of Ballarat MTB Coaching, I'm all about helping riders of all levels build confidence and improve their skills. Before every clinic, We start out with a car park skills session, focusing on key drills like cone cornering, track standing, and braking techniques. These sessions are tailored to the group’s experience, ensuring that every rider gets the most out of it.
My coaching style is all about solid technique and mindset. Emphasizing the importance of staying in an attack position, looking ahead, and maintaining control through tough features, Alex helps riders stay calm and confident, especially on tricky sections like steep drops or chutes. Through fun, hands-on coaching, I aims to help riders push their limits while enjoying the ride.
